Flower carpet 2022

From 12.08.22 > 15.08.22

In 2022, the flower carpet makes its grand return! An event familiar to all Brussels residents but also worldwide. The 2022 edition pays homage tribute to the very first flower carpet in the history of the capital. Its design, titled Arabesques, as in 1971, incorporates natural forms of leaves and stems. These are decoratively arranged around Saint Michael and the Belgian lion.

Around one hundred volunteers spend spent eight hours assembling begonias, dahlias, grass and bark over 1680 m². The 70m-long carpet has been laid every other year on the Grand-Place since 1971. It can be seen over 4 days. It brings even more beauty and magic to this sumptuous square.
