Exploring the Brussels City Museum

Budding explorers can seach the museum and answer fun questions in the puzzle booklet. They’ll get to ucover the Maison du Roi (the magnificent building that houses the Museum), find out more about the development of the city from the 13th century to today, unearth the secrets of the mysterious Senne, the canal and the fountains, not forgetting the iconic symbol of Brussels: the Manneken-Pis will reveal his past to the curious youngsters!

The Brussels City Museum invites families to discover three new interactive spaces to make your visit even more enriching and entertaining. These fun activities, set up in the great hall on the second floor of the Maison du Roi/Broodhuis, are designed for all ages, with activities that stimulate curiosity and learning.

Discover our new activities:

  • St Michael the fighter: Find the missing pieces of armour of St Michael, draw a terrifying devil and imagine making this legendary hero speak.
  • Create your coats of arms: By drawing inspiration from the room’s stained glass windows, design a unique coat of arms representing you, add an inspiring motto and personalised decorations.
  • Quiz on masterpieces: A family game in which everyone can test his or her knowledge on the museum’s treasures. Answer the questions to climb the City Hall tower and become the winner!
